With a 3 year old I recommend stayhome island so the rest of us can enjoy
OP is savage, I'm here for it
Oahu Waikiki area is very touristy and fun lots of food and nice beach etc, Kauai is smaller and quiet everything closes at like 9pm and is basically a giant nature reserve with beautiful excursions, Maui has some of the best beaches but that’s about all it has to offer.

Maui actually has phenomenal hiking inside Haleakala, but almost certainly going to be too tough with young kids.

Maui, might be biased since I bought a condo there. Small enough to still have a local vibe unlike Honolulu but still plenty of shops, restaurants, activities etc unlike big island/Kauai

Wailea beach resort (Marriott) Maui. Lot of great restaurants not too far.

You will not be disappointed. We also have a 3 yr old and were there this summer. No kids allowed in one infinity pool but besides that everything was fantastic.
I’d say Kauai. There’s a Marriott there with a big pool and a real gentle beach. Any excursion on there will require driving but the island is not very big and this is doable. Been to Maui too and liked Kauai a lot more.
Oahu — the beaches on the north shore tend to be flatter.

For that age, I’d really go Staten. So much for the little tyke to get into on the street.

Little tyke’s parents also want to have some fun
Oahu: Disney had a resort there that does luau’s on the west side, the Dole pineapple farm is fun for kids and has a cool maze they will enjoy, plus everything Honolulu/ Waikiki has to offer
No kid, I’d say Maui. But kids do change the calculus.
Just got back and stayed at Royal
Hawaiian. Try to use those suite nights on an ocean facing room.

Hear there’s a White Lotus hotel on Maui that’s pretty cool. Never been myself though.
