I keep hiring sales people who are super enthusiastic and overpromising on what they deliver. I put them through a trial month (no base + commission only) and they do not close a single deal, Even though the commission structure is amazing and I’m incentivizing them through the roof. We experienced sales people are asking for a base and commission but I’m scared that I’ll end up having a base and the same thing will end up happening. What am I doing wrong?

I have an extremely difficult colleague that I cannot work with. He answers my questions with completely tangential information and i have to repeat questions multiple times before he answers them, easily the poorest communicator I have ever worked with.

The week he took as PTO was the best week of my career at Amazon and I was far more productive.

I don't think I can continue working here if I am working with him on a daily basis, but I don't want to be seen as a poor team player. Any advice?

What the hell was the Fully commercial an ad for?

If advertising needs to grow its business and retain quality talent then they need to start paying more at every levels. Theres junior fresh grads in consulting firms making more than directors at my agency. It’s embarrassing to work in ad agencies and although our work is less dry and more creative, i am seeing lot of great creative directors, copywriters and data professionals move to tech and consulting side of things. Anyone else feel the same? Passion doesn’t pay bills.
