Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

Keep looking. If they fire you, you'll need the unemployment venefits
OP, don't "just quit" - look for another job and if you get fired in the meantime, you could qualify for unemployment. But not if you just quit ...
It's not hard to get fired at all! Don't ever rely on that foolishly
It's easy to get laid off. I don't here of a lot of people getting fired.
Agree with consensus here. And generally, if it's a true layoff you'll get severance as well which you forfeit if you quit.
laid off or fired?
Deutsch, that has nothing to do with how easy it is. You're talking about how often it occurs. We just had somebody fired on the team for underperforming. And it's happened many times in my career to other folks for similar reasons. It happens...often enough. You'd still qualify for unemployment virtually in any state unless gross employee misconduct or reckless behavior. Fired for "poor fit" or underperforming or "lack of skills" is still OK for unemployment. Why would you just quit without another job and disqualify yourself from unemployment benefits? Better sit tight for that firing to come while looking
People here are overly empathetic to those that are fired. Having fired someone before, I recommend using this as an opportunity to really evaluate if this is the right career for you. Getting fired is a BFD. It's a small industry.
No! ⬆⬆⬆
No, AAD?
@CD1- Lol, I hate this primitive app:) I said No as answer to OP's question and used arrows to point to what you said instead. As I posted, another post appeared simultaneously, separating mine from yours
Always take the severance
HR cannot disclose you were fired. The only legal thing they can do if called for employment reference is the dates you worked there, not why employment was terminated. Obviously, you should not be going around saying you've been fired when interviewing for new jobs. Meanwhile, if you're afraid of getting fired soon and it's because of your performance, I feel bad for whoever hires you next...
What CD1 said, I mean
Hang in there and look for a new job in the meantime. It's hard to get fired.
*hear
Take the severance!
Helll no! Take the unemployment and potential severances. Sit tight sweet heart.
Eh not sure I agree w you about BFD mediavest. Not that I'd be okay with getting fired in fact it'd be awful and embarrassing. But I've known people who were fired more than once for ridiculous shit yet managed to get other jobs time and time again, all within the industry AND same city. Boggles the mind, really...
But to answer the question, no. No way. Unless your parents are totally cool with you moving back home i say get another job (and try to do it before the guillotine falls so your resume stays clean).
