Pre-sales is better for earning potential, visibility, and usually more room to grow. Post-sales has a more predictable WLB and better route to sales. You’ll find pros and cons in each. I would agree with finding what you are naturally better at and focusing there.
Pre sales is the best imo. Post sales is often lower pay, and you deal with the bad parts of customer management. Pre sales is often higher risk, higher quotas, more variable pay.
Pre sales can move to pure sales roles, to product, etc.
Post sales has a harder path to getting to pure sales roles, but not super limited to career path IMO. Just depends on what you’re good at
