Cushman & Wakefield Interested in a Sales Associate position at Cushman & Wakefield. I have experience as a government analyst for 7 years but nothing related to commercial real estate. I want to become a more competitive applicant but not sure where to start. Are there any certificates, skills, or knowledge that I should be learning in my free time?

Most of the world is covered by water
Just take the water and PUSH IT somewhere else. (SpongeBob fans only)
"Don't look up" is happening in real life.
Literally because of the Koch Brothers and the GOP
tf u want me to do lmao
Because everyone fears that the worst is yet to come. For ex: ww3 which may translate into a nuclear war. May the lord have mercy on us

Plenty of people are, but few of them have enough political capital to address the problem. Most of the ones who aren’t are either foolish enough to think it’s not a real problem or rich enough to assume it won’t be a problem for them.
As we’ve seen in the US with the pandemic, our population isn’t in great shape to solve a collective action problem, at least partly because ignorance is treated with roughly equal seriousness and weight as experience and knowledge.
I’ll let principal skinner answer for me

Soooo there are like 10 billionaires that own the entire pipeline of traffic, from roads to tires to oil to car metal to factories. They have spent tens of billions of dollars convincing people that global warming is a hoax, and that it’s funny to make fun of liberals who care
These people went so far as to buy textbook companies, change the curriculum to say global warming is a belief system, then changed the law in several red states to allow these textbooks to be taught
What are regular people supposed to do when big corporations are responsible for a majority of climate damage? Personally I can’t carry that burden. Vote, consume responsibly, donate when you can? Life is short. Even shorter now that the world is burning.

Are you showing your concern by posting here, OP?
Are you willing to cut back your emissions by 50-60% on a per capita basis? Are most people around you willing to make major lifestyle changes like eating only locally grown foods (which means giving up many types of things like fruits and nuts depending on where you live and heavily reducing meat intake) - most water is used for industrial uses and agriculture like avocados, almonds, etc that require a ton of water.
Are you willing to pay a 2x plus premium on utilities, manufactured goods, etc? The vast majority of people across the world are not willing to do any of these things. People like to blame politics, but the most substantial gov policy we’ve had for emissions is a non-binding agreement to agree to reduce emissions in 30 years without any consequences - during that time we’ve had a Dem majority (including with a 60 vote supermajority for a few years) multiple times.
As a result we’ll just have a steady gradual improvement in lowering emissions but will have to deal with this fallout in the near term - in the long term we’re going to peak in population globally in ~30-40 years after which it should decline substantially which will help a ton. It is what it is.
I don’t care coz I’m gonna live for the next 60-70 years max. Earth will be fine for that long.

“A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit.”
A lot of ppl are concerned about this! We have the Paris Accord, ESGs, a push for carbon credits, etc. At the federal level a lot of stuff isn’t happening as quick as it should be, and the EPAs hands were just tied. State and local level it varies by location: push for your area to get composting pickup, support plastic taxes, support can and bottle return, vote to fund solar and wind farms, support nuclear energy, etc.
Meat/animal industry we have much more vegan options, lab grown meats, myco-meat and dairy, mycoLeather.
For the plastics industries, more and more places are banning single use plastics. Mushrooms are being used to breakdown plastics. Compostable plastics are gaining traction. Zero Waste stores are popping up.
I think most people are. Coupled with the fact that there are severe droughts in many places rn, esp southwestern US. I will say though to keep in mind that forest fires can and do occur naturally and are part of a forest’s natural lifecycle (overall there is actually benefit to them).
