I'm not a recruiter, but I've had positive experiences with reaching out to recruiters. If they are seeking someone with your skills, you'll probably have good results. As far as reaching out through LinkedIn, I have and I know quite a few others who have as well. I don't think it would be too annoying.
It's a hit or miss. They can give you the cold shoulder or they can respond thoughtfully and have your resume at the forefront. It's a shot in the dark cause recruiters operate and respond differently. I'd still do it but just manage your expectations!
I was going to say the same thing. Really varies from recruiter to recruiter but I would say it's worth a shot. You sound qualified so in the end you could be making their life easier!
I think recruiters would be happy to hear from talented candidates. There is a shortage due to the Great Resignation so I think you'd be at an advantage to hit up a recruiter. Maybe personalize the message by finding a common area of interest based on their profile?
I have reached out to recruiters directly with mixed results. Most are super enthusiastic in the beginning but then tend to taper off. I think it's worth trying for sure, as I've had some good convos and it's given me some good practice on interviews etc...I just wouldn't bank on it always leading to something more.
I would only go this route if you feel you are a very strong candidate for the position. Otherwise, you risk looking like you're just throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks.
I was told by a friend who is an Amazon recruiter to go ahead and connect - she didn't say anything about sending a message though
