Should I bother waiting for promo to start applying if I’m looking to stay in consulting short term or would I come in at ~entry level regardless? 2 YOE at ACN Strat, expecting promo to C in Nov. Generally like the work, but feel I could make more while working same or similar hours. Current base 100k, ~6% bonus, expecting that to go to ~130k (?) with ~6% bonus after promo.

Is it possible for you & your partner to both be career driven/focused and be able to raise kids? My husband & I have 1 child so far & we want to expand our family with 1 more but I’ve been told from multiple people that 1 person usually has to back down & it’s usually the mom. We both have demanding jobs but we’ve made it work so far with scheduling & tag teaming activities/tasks related to our kid, dogs & home.
I have recently got an offer from IBM with Annual Reference Salary as 28.5 LPA and with retirals it is mentioned as 30.5 LPA. What will be my tentative take home salary after all deductions and tax?
I’d love some help thinking through this. I’m currently renting for $1600 base ($1800 total) and live in the least desirable part of town, and expect it to raise to about $2k/month. I was planning to buy my first property in the city and Airbnb part of it, but it will take me about a year to save up the cash (~$500k starting). Eventual goal is to move more rural but trying to build to FI. I found a property in my ideal dream location for $280k but it needs work, and can’t Airbnb it. Continued

Deloitte’s Diversity & Inclusion group hosted Nicole Hannah-Jones today and it was a goddamn breath of fresh air to hear her speak candidly. Even called the firm out in some places. I am so happy to not be grinding out 1065s, K1s, or 1120- RICs anymore . This role I’m talking to cpa firms about outsourcing work, tax software companies, mapping data, educating client representatives about tax issues, I’m making 30% more , less hours. Someone change my mind here with work being outsourced to India and automated - is the accounting profession about to change ? Especially public accounting ? I hated getting back some review points on returns .
