What is project specific BGC in TCS?
Hi Guys,
I have been assigned to a Unbillable Project, they are building one app and have recruited people from the talent pool. The project is not registered in GLOW. And they are calling it as Voluntary Contribution type project for studio. Is this what they call Internal Project in Globant?
Will there be any impact if I don't perform as per their expectations?
Will it be of any benefit to me if work in voluntary project? Will HR recognize this project contribution as valid work?

Take your wife with you to Boston
Family first
Cat 3 is bad enough to go home early (if your flight isn’t canceled)
Former hurricane researcher here. There’s a good chance you’ll feel effects on Thursday even though you’re pretty far inland. You don’t have to worry about a ton of wind in CLT but prep for a lot of rain and possible Cat 1 winds. You should definitely be home with the family by Thursday. I’d be home Wednesday. Or if you can fly them up to Boston, even better
Can your wife fly to Boston? I’d just turn it into a romantic getaway in Boston for the weekend
Good luck - I live in Houston and hurricanes are not to be messed with. Is it possible for your wife/family to leave now and stay with friends/family elsewhere? You can then be in Boston as needed and if the hurricane is really bad, you’ll also be in a safe place (I assume Boston is not currently in the path).
Also, you don’t need to evacuate from CLT. To be frank, the only people who should ever evacuate are people on the coast in evacuation areas and those in low lying areas when a ton of rain is forecast. Otherwise you’re just causing problems on the roadways for those who actually need to evacuate (see Irma last year). If you’re in CLT there’s no way you’re getting the worse winds. Hurricanes weaken rapidly as they move onshore.
Finally, keep an eye on the forecast tomorrow before deciding. Forecasts in the 48-72 hour range are much better than 96+ hours like now. Don’t wait for 24 hours out because it’ll be much harder to book travel then
Who schedules something this important on a Thursday? 😀
If the house can be prepared and wife out of town in advance, that is the only way I'd feel comfortable being in Boston. Definitely family first.
Agree with slalom, take the fam to Boston!
Evac early. Hurricane change and cutoff egress on very short notice. Getting caught out on the road is a worst case scenario
Leave the workshop..if you can't decide whether who comes first, family or work then I guess you won't be of much use in the workshop as well . People need public opinion to take an obvious decision...wow !!
Workshop is important. Client team flying in from across US. Been scheduled for weeks. Was going to be great networking opportunity and to pitch for add-on work.
Something you should talk to your partner/director about. I’ve had workshops rescheduled in past due to inclement weather as one or more of the clients were facing similar decision.
Looks like it’s not going to be hitting until later Friday so you should be able to get home
Anything could happen with this storm still - including fizzle out Go to the workshop.
Family. No one will blame you.
You should speak with your managers on the project, safety always comes first and you should never risk stranding your family.
I grew up in south Florida. Any category would warrant heading home early in my opinion. A tropical storm would be worth waiting through, but an actual hurricane has the potential to noteably mess with the infrastructure.
Just so you get an idea, a category 1 hurricane has sustained winds of 75 mph.
Go home and be with your family.
Even if it hits the coast as a Cat 3, by the time it gets to Charlotte it'll just be bad t-storms
