Ask the captain to sacrifice their first born as penance.
You should probably get compensation just because you’re going to SJU...and because you’re from Deloitte, of course.
If you were us...you wouldn’t have to travel this week...
@P1 sounds like he has a small dick
The screens had to be rebooted on my EWR to LAX flight (economy), and United automatically gave all of us a $100 voucher or 5000 points.
These posts are unreal. 130k miles flown this year. Doubled with status and other plus plus bonus extras through rentals and hotels blahblahblah in this job, and you guys still feel owed something off some random fuckup that was nobody ‘s fault? Aren’t you embarrassed for even asking,!or are you not at all self aware?
P1 I think if OP is saying "gimme points!!!" to the airline, I'm with you (and do think too many people do that in this industry). But sending them an email indicating a service problem I think it's totally valid and important to do. Flights take up too much of our time for the WiFi not to be available in 2018.
@PwC1: it is leisure travel
Doesn't it still work to use a laptop or tablet? Lots of planes removing the screens in seats now in favor of that.
Yeah you should get a good amount of points. Also ask the FA if they have portable tablets you can use with the movies predownloaded/use their app on your own screen
@P1 Not points, but I would feel owed a loaner tablet (if available on the flight) or at least attempt at reboot. Had this happen two months ago and a reboot fixed IFE, but not the charging plug or Internet. I email Gogo every time their service doesn't work because I have a monthly subscription I pay out of pocket to be able to work on the plane.
Paid first?
Upgraded to first. Delta btw
yes
No WiFi as well. Some technical issue with the aircraft
Ya delta will. My tv was broken and they gave me 20k pts for a shorter flight in first
Sounds like one of the attendants may be old and not know how to work the system
I dunno man. We all fly and hotel enough to hope that the staff kinda like to make us happy and will do so if they can. These situations where people are trying to opportunistically extract points where it’s not really anyone’s fault drive me mental. If someone is abusive to you directly, refuses you service or gives you bad service, fine; fully reasonable. But trying to finagle points when someone makes an honest mistake or something out of their control happens is just douchey. You get more points on your Membership Rewards alone than like 90 percent of the population. Sort it out.
In retrospect, OP’s post is want as bad as many I see here, so credit to them. Railing against the greater issue. Also I do that JFK-SJU connection a lot. Frequently pretty alone up front, so it ain’t a hard upgrade, and it’s a pretty comfortable trip on other accounts (food and drink).
@P1. That’s why I asked not to make a big deal out of it? So before lashing out, try and understand the question. All I wanted to do was to listen to a podcast while I finish a last minute ask from my engagement’s ppmd (which I ended up doing in my hotel). Anyway, I just gave a honest feedback to their, “we value your opinion email.”
Did you complain before the flight?
