I feel very conflicted about whether to jump into an EM consulting role from industry. My husband is older, has switched jobs to a role that pays significantly less to his previous one pre-lay offs. We have 1 baby and I think I want a second. We really need this jump in salary to make this work. Irrationally I’m afraid that by not seeing my daughter Mon-Thurs for a few years it will damage our relationship and we won’t be close. Can people give me some real perspective?
10/2020: I got laid off due to COVID. 10/2020 to 05/2021: I put over a hundred job apps for industry roles. I got multiple interviews and many unsuccessful final rounds. 06/2021:I am happy to share that I’ve received an offer for a 6 figures role in IA which is a 66% bump from my previous role!If you got laid off or not and you’re still looking for a better opportunity, don’t give up because believing is achieving!
College student here. I was curious as to McK’s undergrad hiring process. I see that it seems they want you to indicate a preference for a specific practice area (such as Ops or Corp Fin),...(cont.)
Has anyone ever given more than 2 weeks notice at the senior level? From conversations with my peers, it sounds like 75% are interviewing currently with the goal to transition before busy season. I just want to put my team in a decent position to replace me before this potential mass exodus of seniors from my group.

Had final interview at startup with CEO and would-be direct supervisor and at the end they were using language like "you'll be our first [name of role]"... Does this mean I basically got it, or should I not read into it? I'll find out soon anyway, but appreciate any speculation 😅
Does everyone have an exit for Accounting? I’ve been searching for industry opportunities but nothing really stands out. I have previous GL Accounting prior to risk so I have a decent pool of options to choose from. I like the work I do in public minus the billable work and the crazy over time.

I'm an engineer w/ BS/MS, have had engineer, PM and Tech Sales roles. I am interested in consulting and would love to speak more with some current employees about a referral! I am curious about the different job functions available. I've taken the GMAT as well to apply to MBA programs, unsure about how important bschool is in order to break into consulting.

Received offer for product management from prestigious non profit tech company; but the pay is quite low. I’m pivoting from consulting and want to break into PM but is it worth it for the low salary?
Hello, we recently built out a technology team at our company. They are a phenomenal team with great work flow, rapport and collaboration however, most are junior in their career which can make it difficult for our senior lead to step away. They all receive professional dev allowances so we would like to work toward identifying possible future leads and laying out a growth plan. Do any of you have best practices, tips or resources in doing this specifically for tech talent?
Applied for an in-house position last week. I think I am a good fit. Haven’t heard from the big tech company. I briefly worked for the director of that group a few years back at a different law firm and we are connected on LinkedIn. Should I reach out to her? What should I say?
What does compensation look like at the Partner/MD level? I know this varies, but interested to know at Big4, MBB, Public firms (Accenture/IBM), boutique consulting. Wondering if staying for the long run is worth it

Anyone else out there concerned that the market is going to go bear and we’ll be back to the days of endless layoffs and starving for projects?
Seeking advice on how to choose between a mid tier technical accounting advisory offer and Big 4 audit. Worked in audit at a local firm and wanted a bigger platform. Would love to switch to advisory to be more well rounded. Mid tier advisory offers higher salary but also thinking big 4 has a better platform and maybe better exit opportunities in the long run? Insights please.

Just hired at a Big 4 as a consultant, which was to be perma-full remote. Am now being asked to travel for projects with unclear % of travel time.
