Should I use a recruiter or keep applying directly? 2nd-year trying to lateral to NY from a small market. Moving to the city for personal reasons. My stats are just ok - 35% at T35 school. Haven’t gotten any traction with direct apps but unsure if a firm will pay a recruiter since I’m so junior. TIA!

I would talk to a few recruiters and see what they think. Might depend on a few things, like practice area. I always had more luck with a recruiter, but I'm a specialist and ymmv.

You answered your own question. You havent gotten traction directly.

If you want a different result, do something different.

You also cant someone in a position to tell your story especially given the move.

Network and use LinkedIn. Make sure your resume is perfect with a cover letter in bullets that lists work experiences that are exactly what the firm you apply to is looking for. Make it easy on the internal recruiters. Ask if you can stop by and bring an internal recruiter coffee and ask for their advice to get in the door. Ask for informational interview w PG heads. We at AmLaw100 do not want to pay headhunters but we want top notch candidates from great schools with good grades. You can’t change your history, but you can make people want to get to know you and work with you.

Hi Fishes,

I gave my various rounds of interview in Deloitte USI 2 months ago, and since then till last Friday it was showing " interview in progress" on their job portal, HR said earlier that we are interviewing other candidates. I got an offer from Amazon last week and asked Deloitte recruiter to speed up the process, i didn't get any reply on my email but now it's showing " review in progress" on the job portal. What does it mean? Shall I wait for Deloitte offer or take Amazon's offer.

Will this interviews continue? Also, what are the chances of me getting a suitable role?

My idea was to slip a tile sheet that is wall behind the tv stand as a back, but I need the tile cut to the specific heigh and width of the tv stand. Does anyone know where I can take this tile sheet to get cut to the specific measurements?
