Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?

Strategy& fish - i’m currently recruiting for org strategy. Ive talked to associates (in the healthcare practice) and theyve mentioned that it doesnt matter whether youre in corp strategy, org strategy, etc and that you’re pretty much pooled by industry when it comes to staffing.
Can someone confirm this? Also, what do you expect the restructuring to look like?

Slalom Consulting this might be a total long shot, but I recently finished the interview process with slalom and they gave me a *verbal* contingent offer for an incoming contract. However, I just found out I might have to relocate to Boston soon. I would love to stick with slalom as the goal company, but wondering if I could talk to the recruiter about transferring my application to the Boston office? Any advice? TY!

Let me share a recent post from the Slalom bowl:
Slalom: these are the projects you’ll be doing
Me: ok. These are individual contributor roles.
Slalom: Yup. Important for us to not have bench time. You need to do the roles we staff you.
Slalom: Your roles don’t demonstrate force multipliers. You haven’t led teams.
Me: I did the roles you told me to do.
Slalom: Since you didn’t demonstrate more leadership on your projects we can’t place you higher in the org.
Me: I...did the roles you sent me...I didn’t have a choice.
Slalom: Here’s your next role. It’s a individual contributor project.
Me: Wait...you just said...
Slalom: Love your future! Smile!

SC1 is describing a variable experience across our markets as we implemented a new career framework. Some leaders did exceptionally well in leading their teams through it (including mine), and some leaders struggled to implement the changes to how we think about and value talent in their practices. I would caution against seeing that post as the norm across the firm.
I work in one of our cross-market teams and have really enjoyed working with both our OC and Denver offices. What practice area are you in?
Yeah I figured up at higher levels that RFPs would be expected but yeah I would be happy just putting out work for now and eventually when I’m ready start to get engaged in RFP work. But I really appreciate the insight! It’s been super helpful!
