Consultant or solution architect depending on how many years of manager experience
We dont have a manager title
Talk about what makes you happy work wise.
Do not talk about how you want to go through the ranks amd get promoted quickly. Where other firms value people that want to crush it. We want people that want to do that while being mellow
Interviews (3) went quite well. Heard back from recruiter saying they’d love to bring me on (though I’m still not clear in what capacity). And wanted a 30min call with Practice Director (already interviewed with), to discuss the role specifics. Want to make sure I’m not getting the short end of the stick, but also perplexed by the flatness of the organization and what an appropriate move would be. Thoughts?
Be your actual real self. What city?
@SC1 - two years of Manager experience
@SC2 - San Francisco
We are not really flat. Levels are as follows.
Consultant / solution architect --> solution architect ---> solution principle ---> program area lead ---> program area director --> Md ---> general mgr
Consultants and managers frequently join as solution architects or consultants.
Senior managers join as solution principles.
Interestingly, Solution Principles are slaloms first level of mgmt.
Pals = exp senior mgr / ap
Pads = entry level partner
Md = exp partner / senior partner
Gm = god
Depends on office. The above is directionally correct, but we have some consultants who are 25+ years in the industry and SMEs. We have some Principals who are 10-12 years in but with leadership personalities.
It depends on the role you are *right* for as a person. Also, in my office compensation does not correlate directly to title. I manage two individuals who have a higher base than I do.
