Slalom is a flat organization. I have been at consultant and now that I am applying I have noticed LinkedIn only shows jobs for analysts and consultants but I should be more at a senior level

it’s your profile. you can be “guru” if you want. i would advise against it though, as people could know you’re bullshitting. is there a recent project you’ve worked on where your role was more of a senior title? like lead consultant, principal consultant, etc? that way you can explain it by saying you update your title to reflect your most recent role.

like

We’re mostly consultants. That’s my title on LinkedIN and I don’t get analyst suggestions. It could do with your YOE or key words in your profile. I search for director level jobs and that’s now what’s suggested to me

like

Unfortunately there’s no “senior” titles at Slalom. You can be a “Consultant” for any number of years (we have plenty who have been in the role for 6+ years) with no title change, unless you can and want to move into an entirely different role.

OP, I suggest adding Senior to your LinkedIn title if you believe you’d be a Senior Consultant at another firm.

like

My title on linked in is not just consultant. I’ve changed it to something that better reflects what I do. Some people will say it’s lying or misrepresenting myself, but I’d argue that the title changes better represents what I do. I want to give myself the best chance of getting identified by recruiters.

like

Is it ok to change my title to match my title to B4?

Just make your title your title. Slalom is super flat and that’s fine, so live with it. You are not a PC, SP, or Consultant manager. Let your experience description show what you do and make sure your keywords are searchable.

I started interviewing early Oct with a company that reached out via recruiter. The hiring manager was very straight forward with me that I was his top candidate and I was told all other interviews were very positive incl CMO. The recruiter said they'd be making an offer but it's now been three weeks. Anyone else had the process drag on like this? Meanwhile I'm taking other interviews and was offered a promotion at current company, but was very interested in this one. What would you do?

I went to a T14 law school, got great grades and glowing recommendations, and wrote (what I thought was) a great writing sample. But I got rejected from all 70 federal clerkships I applied to. The only thing I can think of is: I took a non traditional route after law school and did a 2 year public interest fellowship in a niche field of administrative law. The rejection gave me a lot of self hatred. I still really want to clerk. Any advice? What is wrong with me? I feel like a failure.

I have to decide on the first offer by Thursday but I haven’t heard back from the second yet. Thoughts on next move?

For a linear regression analysis… the equation of a line is Y=MX+B, where M is the slope. So if I’m measuring a line across 365 days and M=.2, can I say that I have increased production by 20% over a year. Or is production increasing 20% each day?

When building a new brand, who is the actual client? Who has the final say? Who should you really listen to if no one is taking the lead? The president of the company, the original owner, the financial money partner, the third party manager? Everyone seems to have a voice, but the main contact is the underling gathering and offering their own opinion, which strangely seems to be the most on point. How do you handle this type of situation?
