Recently moved into Tech Sales. Frustrated with my Salary (32K base/year, negligible bonus potential of a few K). Was making ~3K/week on average in my previous role which was commission only, no base. Feel like I am completely wasting my time and potential. Saw the cut as necessary evil initially in order to move into tech sales and make multi six figure commissions later on with potential to reach 7 figures in total comp. I’ve been interviewing at an agency with the intention of filling a Director role. Recruitment reached out soon after my last meet-and-greet interview (about 6 to 7 people total) to tell me the team thinks I would be best suited for an Associate Director role with a fast follow of a Director promotion.

Recruitment can’t tell me what feedback is creating this gap but also won’t stop mentioning the positive praise and feedback the team had for me.

I'm SVP/strategy for a PR agency. I moved into PR, Healthcare, and Strategic Planning only 3 years ago. An agency recruiter is trying to convince me to move into a GSVP account role, assuring me "at that level it's all strategy." (I dont think she understands the words she's using. Or that I'm qualified). But long-term, knowing account roles are so much more plentiful than brand planning in PR, I'm wondering if I should start thinking about account. Anyone here moved from strategy to account?
