Holy shit some people are sour. @OP: my ex came to my office/city too. With intentions of starting things again. It can be super intimidating so I totally empathize with you. My best advice: try to avoid interaction as much as you can. If she approaches you, be professional, but don't be afraid to set boundaries if it starts becoming an issue. Best of luck to you sir.

like

The human aspect is what many aren't considering here. What if there's still an attraction? What if they're staffed together? How does OP's wife feel about it? Happy hours? What will others in the office think if/when it gets out? This is a tough spot and I'm not envious. I think you and your wife should discuss options and a plan for each scenario.

Pathetic interview experience with EY. The HR was quite helpful but the panelist was rude and impatient.

It seemed like he had mugged up some answers and expected me to respond the same word by word definition.

In fact, when I explained her a concept she was like - I don't want to listen the technical logic or perspective, give me a non technical explanation as if a kid can understand.

Feedback shared by her: "Candidate lacks technical knowledge"

Wanted to see if anyone had a similar situation with a new construction. The builder forgot to include a certain selection of the home in the sales contract and thus didn’t price it out. It never made it to the total sales price which was agreed to. Months later after the loan is locked, and just a few weeks away from closing, builder says they forgot to add that. In order to include, need to raise sales price although in the talks as well as marketing materials it’s listed. False advertising?

I have worked for the same company for 17 years through 2 corporate takeovers. I have been remote now for 10 years, but last week they laid off all the remote people in a neighboring org. All signs point to separate or relocate for the rest of the company not near headquarters before 2023. How do you continue on with a job that you know will cut you solely based on location and not your performance? My severance will be around a half years pay so I am staying till they kick me out.
