McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? His goal is to pivot to PE S&O eventually.

If you're good at what you do, you'll make up the money difference eventually. It's more important to do what you like, unless you have pressure to earn more rn (loans etc). Plus think about all that free travel :)
If you're at Delta HQ I would go for Atlanta (cheaper CoL, travel, developing city). But if it's eTrade NYC that could be cool too if you've never lived there. Also what are the teams like, will this build on other career oppos...all that stuff is a big factor. Either way, great job!! 👍🏼
I say take Delta and take advantage of the free flights around the world
Maybe have them comp the difference for you in miles? Ultimate FB answer
How did you find these opportunities? 👀
Just made a 20k decision to take the job with less pay. Marginally higher than my current pay but way more interesting work
$30k would pay for a lot of travel! If you see a long term career in the airline business go for Delta. If you're going to bschool in a few years...Maybe take the $
As a former airline employee pre-MBA, I can tell you D1 is deadwrong. There is no amount of passion that can make working at an airline as lucrative as most other industries. I've been an aviation nut all my life, but at the end of the day, a senior manager in charge of a team of 8 should be making more than a first year consulting analyst.
I want to say go with what you're interested in, but I'm not sure what interesting cyber-related work you'd be exposed to at an airline. eTrade on the other hand, could set you up well to see more interesting work (by compliance standards) seeing as how they're such a high volume broker dealer.
@Consultant1 yes.
@op don't do the compliance gig. I would take more than 30k pay cut in that salary range to avoid the compliance work I'm thinking of...
@SA1 Can you elaborate more on the aviation industry? Pros cons? Really am interested in aviation but want to talk to someone who has worked an Aviation job on the corporate side
No way! Accenture def pays well (on par with Deloitte)
Take E-trade
What are the roles?
Delta - cyber , eTrade - IT complaints type work.

Are both in the same location? Or is one in a higher COL city than the other? Also, is cyber something you want to do long term?
@PWC1 , both areas are similar in COL and I definitely want to be in cyber long term. @Consultant1, the delta position is in Atlanta and the eTrade is in a city outside of Atlanta.
