Depends on what you value more between the two. For me right now higher earnings is > better work life balance. Once I reach a comp level that I feel can give me a very comfortable lifestyle, shift will probably to more focus on WLB as my daughter starts getting into the middle school age.
Thanks for the reply! I really appreciate the insight. I feel like with the market and the last 2 years of low raises/AIP even with high year end reviews plus all the extra firm stuff just doesn’t make it worth it as the earnings really aren’t going up for my part of GPS.. but still considering the pros/cons. Thanks again for your input!!

I would dig deeper on which better doors you think going fed will open for you.
Comp increases will certainly be less as a fed than staying at Deloitte in the long run. Outside of the financial regulators, federal comp tops out in the lower half of the SM band.
About the only doors flipping your badge will open for you that Deloitte doesn't open is putting you in line for other fed positions that are not open to the public and private sector policy positions that require specific fed experience.
I'm a former longtime fed, happy to answer any general questions you might have.

Yea - they're really necessary to stay competitive.
What they'll look like 20 years from now though, I can't begin to guess!
If I could get equal pay…. I would leave and not look back! CONGRATS!
