I recently interviewed with MITRE for a systems engineering role to make the move from Leidos where I feel underpaid for the work I do and for my experience ($85K). I have 4 YOE, a STEM degree, and soon will have a Masters Degree. I’m looking to make around $120K in the new role at Mitre. Does anyone have any insight into comp there? This would be in the DC metro area. Does $120K seem reasonable or am I dreaming?

Nah, this is just an Amazon thing.
Stock goes up- be happy
Stock goes down- be happy because it will go up
Why would someone use “cash” in 2024?
Some companies are switching from awarding equity / bonuses using equity to just paying cash because it's more favourable for stockholders (issuing stock, even to employees, dilutes the value per share aiui).
4x3s are very realistic schedules , they allow 24/7 production, which is what any production based service needs. When performed properly, there are many times overtime isn't considered criminal also. Maybe less gripes about raise and more streamlining of production?
I didn't expect so many positive responses! The schedule can be overwhelming at times, the one I was associated with memorably had a semi regular 72 week, occasional 84 on expedite projects, and thank the book gods only one 96 my whole time there. It was due to hiring or bringing a temp for a few weeks I heard.
How does anyone feel about craptastic raises? And regardless of Amazon's perspective, I view my RSUs as a 'bonus', which doesn't existing at Amazon for real. The reason anyone comes to work at company like this is to make money by experiencing stock valuation increases. If things go up,, good for you! But not giving reasonable raises because you'll 'make it up when your stocks vest' is a BS fallback for multiple reasons that almost all point back to corporate greed.

eBay, you don’t have 401 k?
In the past the “stock appreciation” justification has been eye rolly but if you actually do have a good number of shares vesting this year, yeah, they have appreciated a lot and I’m hitting my total comp. Depends on your RSU grants. Works for some people. 🤷🏻♀️
