So I’m feeling very upset. I’m very sensitive to feeling like a social outcast or that people don’t like me... and I feel like a colleague I work with is eithermaking jabs at me/or somehow resents me.

Had a nasty bout of anxiety a while ago and felt this way only to realize i was way off when i could look at it with a clearer mind

Glad to hear it OP :) sometimes our wandering thoughts get a little out of control haha

I think it’s possible that they don’t think I recognize them enough - but at the same time I feel like I do recognize/thank them when they do a good job or go above -and beyond

1. Is it you specifically only, or do they do it to everyone on the team? If everyone, it's their personality (I've had a senior who was jokingly sarcastic to everyone constantly). I've also had a senior who didnt like me very much because of the way I worked vs how she worked (detailed notes vs learn and repeat).
2. Tone? My senior above would sound more sarcastic when I would snap back with jabs, but more joking when I was quieter that day. However I've also had a manager who was very condescending all the time.

It could be, sometimes it's hard to tell. My best measure of it is usually based on how they treat the rest of the team for similar situations. If they seem to make jabs at others, it's them being themselves. However if it's only pointed at you (and make sure you pay close attention, sometimes we only notice jabs at ourselves), then there may be more to consider.

You kind of sound like my manager. She’s constantly worried about what everyone thinks of her. And tbh, not many ppl like working with her. She’s very sensitive to how ppl react to her requests. If we don’t sound enthusiastic enough, she’ll take it personally. But after talking with my coworkers, it seems like her tone of voice when requesting us to do something was a huge part. She comes off as demanding. Also, when she’s stressed (she’s constantly stressed over everything), she becomes micro managy and is constantly on our ass about status. All in all, it’s not worth the stress worrying about if ppl like you or not as long as you treat ppl around you with respect and kindness

Use her paranoia to your advantage. Feel the energy of the dark side flowing through you. 😈

There’s no reason you have to put up with a job you hate. I spent many years working in a toxic environment with a boss who gossiped and lead through fear. He wasn’t really much of a leader but basically a foreman. And he could make my existence miserable. I admit that it wasn’t easy to find another job but the bottom line is: trust your guts. If you feel something is wrong it’s because it probably is. Don’t second guess yourself. Look for options and and fight for your mental health.

At this point, I’m looking forward to telling opposing counsel in this one case that I’m leaving my firm more than telling my firm. Between the ridiculous theory of the case, the truly obnoxious discovery requests, and the self-righteous attitude, I can’t wait to never talk to this guy again.

Thanks :D

Am I particularly uptight, or is writing meant to be done alone, without a partner talking to you? With past partners, we chat through script notes and then I go off to execute. Current partner likes to sit and chat as I write. To me, writing is crafting a conversation. So I can’t talk to you and simultaneously talk to this audience. Of course I can just say “I’m gonna go write.” But since we’re both CD level, I’m like…is this his first rodeo? Maybe other writers are different though.

I feel like I've been lowballed, can someone explain the below breakdown please?

Base salary: 60k
Quarterly quota (per quarter): 107k
Quarterly bonus (per annum): 23k
130% Annual bonus = 11.5k
"23% commission on quota minus base": 37k (don't understand this)
"Proposed 23% commission on 150% quota minus base": 86.5k
Sales commission threshold per month: 22k
OTE: 122k
Cost/Sales: 28%

That base salary is lower than my previous base by a significant amount by 32.7%
