So I’m thinking about becoming an independent contractor as an LA/EA but have no idea where to start. I’m currently working for a small firm where I am underpaid and overworked. The firm has a sweatshop mentality and as of late I think about quitting every day. I want to take my 30+ years and market my experience to law firms and Fortune 500 companies. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Anybody who works with Jira. When I copy a dashboard with filters on it to make a new dashboard the filters become linked. So when I change the dates on one the other is changed. Is there a way to delink them without getting rid of the permissions on the filter. Using the “save as” function doesn’t work because it gets rid of the permission. Really appreciate any help

I’ve been practicing in both big law (many yrs ago) and now in-house for over 10 years. Quite often I struggle because I don’t find work fulfilling. I’ve been in industries that allegedly have greater cause (healthcare) but was eventually disappointed by the corporate bureaucracy and went to a cutting-edge tech company for intellectual stimulation. Still I struggle. Should I try public interest? Not that I don’t need the money but it’s hard to work when I am so detached and find it meaningless

I’m so miserable every day is painful. I want to go tell pre-law school me it’s not worth the debt because you will hate this career and then feel trapped by the debt. And then I want to come back to present day, quit this life-leeching, soul-sucking job and start over doing something else entirely. Too much? Oh well. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
