I’ve given up on staffing agencies a long time ago. Idk how they are still in business since everyone has access to internet to apply to jobs. Nonetheless I have never had a good experience with them, except Kelly Services, but they rarely have any openings any more.
I haven't used a staffing agency in years. But yes, Kelly Services was my go to back then too. They took their time to actually get to know me and they kept me employed. When I moved states I tried Robert Half and AppleOne and the experience was not great.
Be greatful you have a current job. You could be like me, in the search. I would make the best of where you are now.
On the employer side, it can be annoying to work with Robert half too. They will flood you with resumes rather than submitting the best candidate fits. Often they'll submit people without even confirming with the candidate. I've selected candidates to interview only to be told they are no longer available as they've accepted elsewhere or are not interested in the position, even though I usually respond same/next day from the time they send the resume. And they dont screen the candidates nearly as well as other recruiters (if at all).
I have had a Robert Half recruiter call me a "shit".
I have zero use for Robert Half.

They are 1,000% AWFUL & UNETHICAL. I reached out to the Temporary team a few months ago to be considered for Temp to Perm opportunities & the Recruiter said "our location doesn't help people find jobs are currently employed. It's a lose lose situation for us & the candidate. So, if you leave your current job, let me know and we can help you find something."
So their PERMANENT team couldn't help me because the Recruiter said I had "too many short stints" on my resume & the TEMP TO PERM team couldn't help me either. Wtf is their purpose?!! That has to be unethical regarding how they handled my request for assistance with finding employment. INCOMPETENT IDIOTS!!
Federal, state, and city jobs take a while to process. Myself (city) and my husband (state) have applied and it took so long, I had 2 job of interviews to go to, when they called 2 months later. My husband waited 3 months.
Have a great day and good luck

Sometimes, well, a lot of times staffing agencies can be useless. I use them as a supplement to my job search. More as a backup tool because the jobs never truly match up to what you want. They are simply trying to get people placed to make money. They are salespeople at best.
This is so relatable. Especially as someone with little experience, its rough out here. Like, how am I supposed to get the experience if no one wants to hire me?
When I had a job this year I would get constant calls about People wanting to hire me but now that I don't have a job I literally apply for hundreds of jobs and I have heard nothing back. And it's just all so confusing. I constantly get ghosted by recruiters too.
I reached out a recruiter from Gleeson, she advised me that connecting with more recruiters, and most of her clients start from the position like receptionists or HR Administrators as the first step to the realm of HR. However, one day I finally saw she was recruiting a HR Administrator, I read the JD carefully and felt like it might be the right chance for me. I tailored the CV, and on cover letter I not only showed what skills I could bring to the table, I also demonstrated how I plan to utilise my skills to help the company. Still get a rejection right away.
As a former recruiter, they’re only interested in helping their client who is trying to fill a specific position. If the client rejects you, their priorities shift to focus on the new client requirements; they will only call you if another position like the one you interviewed for come up. They’re not here to help job seekers.
I haven't heard of that Robert Half & Ultimate before, how do they work? I'm sorry you're in this situation. I have been looking for a job for the past 6 months, too. I know it's hard.

When I met with a Recruiter from Robert Half a few months ago, she told me the Contact team would be a better fit than her Permanent placement team because i "have too many short stints on my resume & the client is picky." I worked in contract jobs for 3 years YOU DUMMY.
Also, I need to find an apartment before my lease is up at the end of this year, so I'm trying to do things the wise and sensible way first. I got a call for affordable housing twice in 2 different areas for the past 2 months; but I could not accept because I did not have a new job in that area. Wth do they make it so DAMN HARD for us college graduates, adults, & unmarried ppl to freaking SURVIVE & be successful?!! Like damn. Im trying hard here. I message people on Linkedin to make connections for jobs I applied to & everything..
Like maybe I just need to move out of the DMV area Asap & get a job in a different state. Wtf. Im over this!!!! Has anyone has any success with their job search at all? If so, what did you do that worked for you & was helpful?
Well don’t come to Texas, we’re FULL.
Hi there setting on at great bear HARWORTH u will be set on straight away
If you've applied for a state job, it moves very slow. Don't lose hope!
