I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

No. You will need to be fully cleared or will start the process all over again.
What do you do in GPS that has your utilization so low?

False. I did it. 14 months into my investigation I moved to another company. The other company just opens their own investigation with a sponsor and when you leave the first company the two cases are merged into one and keep going. It’s not that deep.
But don't have my interim yet, is there anyway to get another company to take over my clearance process?

YES! I did it. 14 months into my investigation I had another company take over.
Where did they announce the would start doing lay offs???

Fed stuff should be picking up as EY tries to get a slice of the stimulus administration bonanza. If your util is low now, there should be opportunities to get that pumped up. Are you on the bench now?
No I'm staffed but my project ends on the end of May, there is a possibility it gets extended but 🤷, I'm just taking precautions just in case.
OP you can move to another project. You'll be fine.
Just, talk to your counselor about everything (except you applying to other places)
