Personally I don't get it, but I guess for some people it's somehow easier to get themselves to do weird grueling ascetic diets and programs (like "starve yourself for 4 days then binge like a podcaster selling you on a carnivore diet") than to just eat healthily (whole foods, mostly plants, not too much) on a daily basis
Yeah it's not surprising you will lose some weight by repeatedly fasting for 4 days straight. Though you could also probably achieve that by having a modest caloric deficit everyday.
Yes, I’m not arguing that there aren’t benefits of fasting, and even though it has mixed sentiment, I think it can be okay.
When D1 mentioned calorie deficit, they didn’t mean to starvation levels. Reasonable caloric deficits resulting in weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week is widely accepted as healthy.
But this isn’t just fasting, this is much more extreme, and it’s widely known that this rapid weight loss is unlikely to be sustained, and not good for you in the long run.
New diets emerge all the time, all claiming to be the best. Diets like these also consistently fail to create lifelong change. It’s great that you’ve lost weight and feeling better - definitely won’t take that away from you, but extreme diets are nothing to celebrate or promote imo

Make sure you're aware of refeeding syndrome. Good luck on your journey, I hope it goes well.
Not really a thing for just 4 days. Part of reason I'm rolling v. going extended. Thanks for concern though
Good god is this unhealthy
Yes, can you read? OP has lost 16 pounds so far. I agree that 10 pounds of water weight makes sense. Normal cutting.
Now, if you look at the last part of OP’s very first message, it says “58 pounds to go”, meaning, OP wants to keep this up for another 60 pounds, and is going to continue this cycle until they meet that goal. So yes, it was always 60 lbs.
Clearly, from other comments, OP isn’t doing this as part of a disciplined bulk/cut cycle. So, continuing to maintain this cycle this aggressively, and certainly isn’t how to develop sustainable, long-term habits.
Now, if you have evidence to show this is a normal, healthy, and common way to drop 75 lbs in a sustainable fashion, this quickly, I’ll be happy to be proven wrong

When you say insanity. Are you referring to Shaun T’s program?

Doubt it
Ok, I'll bite. What is a "near daily bjj"?

Fun fact, exercise right before breaking a fast increases the amount of fat that you burn so personally associate a.k.a. OP I’m proud of you
NGL I read bjj as bj and thought “dang bro”
I used to do that. 72 hrs fasts Mon-wed then eat normally. Every week. Gained it all back 😂 just hitting the gym more often now.
What are the results? Lost any weight?
Around 16 pounds down. 200 to around 184. Some is water weight/food though. Was 189 immediately following last eating day.

What kind of protein on day 5?
Depends on the day. Sometimes not that much but up to 250 on highest end

Not a joke. I would get your mental health checked out. The fact that you’ve sustained that for 16 days is quite worrying

I’m not a doctor so no comments. I’m more impressed that you can go 4 days with no food without collapsing. I can do 24 hours before I can barely stand
It is just boring. I feel fine enough to grapple
Are you taking Ozempic or similar? That would curb your appetite without feeling like you’re dying from starvation.
That’s a good point. Best of luck to you! I’ve heard people get great results from fasting.
