Sorry about the slalom layoffs. I had an offer from slalom build back in February and the recruiter who gave me the verbal offer got laid off recently. Should I still keep hopes of joining slalom? The other offer that I had from another company also got rescinded due to layoffs. Slalom Consulting
Going to be very honest. I would hold off joining til Q2 next year. We are going thru a re-org and when ELT is pushed on another round of layoffs they won’t say no. My guess is there is another round coming in Q1 2024. After that, better time to come on board. That being said, morale is pretty low right now. Some kool-aid drinker is going to come in here and refute this, but this place is a bit culty sometimes. It’s a business first and a lot of the kool-aid drinkers just got laid off.

I believe a lot of build is going to be replaced by near/offshore in the next 2 years. I'd re-apply to your closest local market instead... Though Q1/Q2 is probably a more realistic timeframe.
I'd get out while you still can. I know a slew of folks heading for the exits after recent events.
You could contact another recruiter from build in a few weeks if you wanted to check in on where things stand for now and future.
But in all honesty it could be some time before things settle down and are in a position to hire again. I’d expect you’d probably need to reinterview anyway when they do start hiring, as if it gets to almost a year on things will have likely changed on candidate and company side.
