Do DI has only Indian clients?
GmE up above 300 let’s go!!!
Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

Sharing a good pros and cons someone shared on FT -
Pros of St Regis:
1). Larger space - StR Suite is almost 2x the size of RC's regular OWV.
2) More vibrant reefs, wildlife and much better snorkeling
3) Free breakfast for Platinum and above (Titanium status).
4) usually better upgrade potential, but as we already booked the StR Suite, not sure there is much realistic upgrade path left.
Pros of RC:
1). More varied dining options in the resort and neighboring island
2) Free a) mini / honour bar and snacks (excluding alcoholic drinks) b) free afternoon tea c) free still / sparkling water throughout resort d) free happy / drink hour for elites?
3) newer rooms so less wear and tear
4) more free resort activities
5) more flexible transfer options, as the boat isn't daylight / weather dependent like the seaplane. This allows for less time waiting in Male on arrival and a later resort departure (we have a 9pm flight on QR returning home)
6) better beach (less erosion) villas, but I think we prefer to stay overwater, as we aren't coming with our kids.

Breakfast is worth a lot
Ritz is newer but I stayed in the STR is august and was blown away. Breakfast is worth a ton and well worth the difference.
Also, the service teams at the ritz I have heard are having their teething pains, while the STR is a well oiled machine with no lapses in service.
Stayed at the RC in December in an overwater villa. Haven’t stayed in STR. I was generally completely blown away by it, it was a beautiful resort.
Pros in my opinion:
-Boat transfer. This is HUGE. We stayed in a different resort after that required a plane transfer and it was a huge PITA. We ended up with a 9 hour layover in Male on our way back to the US which was awful given how long it takes to get back to the US even from Male. RC boat ensures you have as short a layover as possible.
-Lots of variety for food and drinks. In villa dining is also similarly priced to going to the restaurants so we didn’t feel bad about having room service for lunch every day (the villa was so beautiful we tended to prefer hanging out there over going to the shared beaches).
-There’s another island you can go to that’s part of the wider Fari Islands complex with other restaurants and shops. There’s a free boat transfer every hour. It was nice to have even more variety and be able to check out another island.
-The resort is brand new and everything is pristine. This was not the case for the other place we stayed.
-There is a shallow barrier reef protecting the villas, meaning you don’t get big waves at your overwater villa. The other place we stayed didn’t have this and the waves were so big and loud smashing into our OWV that it woke us up on several occasions.
Cons:
-It’s a man-made island so there isn’t the wildlife there that other islands have (lizards, fruit bats). Not sure if STR is man made or not.
-The shallow barrier reef is a tougher snorkel than other places that have a wall right off the island and doesn’t have quite the same amount of marine life. They do have lots of scuba/snorkel trips though, we did the shark snorkel one and it was incredible.
We were in a lagoon OWV which was east-facing. The pool had sun in the morning and was shaded in the afternoon - I would assume the inverse is true for the west-facing sunset OWV. However, there’s also a separate dock area with a hammock that gets full sun for the whole day. We were happy with the shade because the sun is so strong there and we had the dock option when we wanted sun. Don’t know about the breakfast situation, I’m only platinum so can’t speak to titanium benefits and we got room service every morning.
That St Regis property is newer (quite new) and they generally have better service than RCs

Ritz is brand new. Much newer in fact, it opened 9 months ago.
