I have to take 2 after my husband died suddenly There are two kinds, health in which you still get paid, and unpaid. To get paid medical leave required forms to be filled out by a doctor (not just a therapist) and rather humiliating monthly (or more often near the end of 3 months) calls from the insurance company asking if I was completing daily tasks like preparing meals without assistance. The second leave I took I just took unpaid. Far easier with a lot less paperwork, but by then everyone knew I was struggling with daily life and child care, and I came right out and told my PC if I didn’t get the loa I would need to quit.
My recommendation if you want paid medical (also called short term disability) that you don’t discuss it until you have a doctor lined up to write the letter for you.
So sorry for your loss. Sending you strength and positivity ❤️
...since I do want to be considerate of my teams. We’re in busy season still and terribly understaffed, and I care about my teams and don’t want to leave all my responsibilities on my peers who are already overwhelmed. I’ve already told my manager that I’m trying to take leave and he understands. What am I suppose to tell the agent? That sometimes I fantasize about getting into a car wreck just so I can take a break?
Not sure how STD works for EY. When I took STD for mental health my therapist had to submit forms to the insurance company and get approval. Maybe you should see a therapist to get help first
Yeah if you have a doctor’s note I don’t really see this being a problem.
Yea, get a doctors note - they may refer you to a psychiatrist which can provide the doctors note as well
