Interviewing at a dream company, and right from the first interview the recruiter told me we are way off on salary expectations. This was a little bit expected, as the role is requiring a few years less experience than I have and also in a much cheaper market. They already told me the salary range during this first call, but wondering if they like me enough and I get an offer, how I might approach negotiating for more. Currently at BNY Mellon with 10 YOE, specifically in Corporate Trust working CLO/CDO’s (first job out of college). How long did it take you to receive your first promotion? I have 3 years of work experience, currently at my 3rd agency, and third associate position. Four people on my brand team have been promoted (across levels and departments, but none in PM). I just accepted an offer in writing. The new job will start the background check next which I’ve been told it may take a while to complete. My start date at the new job isn’t until 2023 so there is some time for me to turn in my notice. Or working at an MBB for some time is actually a really good life/career choice?

How terrible would it be to continue pursuing other job opportunities even after you already accepted an offer? I applied to three different places around the same time but one was able to throw out an offer before the other two would even enter into second interviews. The other two will likely pay considerably more so I feel like it’d be a waste to decline them (if I even get another offer).
