I want to just put the overdue invoice in their Dropbox folder
It’s mind boggling sometime that customers have the audacity to ask for material/deliverables without payment. Hav a customer who had a 150k credit line was at about 200k and when I asked them for the 10k for the order freaked out and didn’t respond so we didn’t deliver the material the next day. Get a call at like 10am “where’s my stuff” well you didn’t pay for it so we didn’t send it. Couldn’t wrap his head around the fact even though he owed us 200k we weren’t going to send it to him for free.

Some clients are going to have some outrageous asks…all you can do is say no and have a laugh
Sounds like clients to me. We had the same issue where a client made us do a billion abstracts and manuscripts and then goes “we’re kind of the at the end of bankruptcy” then proceeded to brush off every invoice and just not pay it.
Needless to say, they had A LOT of debt with us and they just started paying invoices from 2020 😭
Reminds me of a past job and I still don't know what people were thinking. The company I worked for took a contract after the previous service provider's contract expired. My company knew there were payment and service disputes but chalked it up to sour relations. Previous co was given 30 day notice....they abandoned the client immediately and we had to fill the roles before we were prepared. Fast forward 2 years...we dropped the contract because they hadn't paid in 18 months.
There are very few accounts worth carrying for over 90 days without any payments. Sometimes it is better to just fire the client and focus more time and energy on clients who have integrity in their business relationships.
