The burnout is real. Primarily a plaintiff's litigator in a HCOL area. Same firm for 16 years. Not a partner but equitable comp arrangement including salary, bonus, and 401k contribution. I make decent, not great, money for the area. The work is ok, but has gotten monotonous. Just don't want to be here. Felt this way for at least 6 months. Vacations haven’t helped. Could stay. Could go solo but will likely feel the same but without the guaranteed comp.

I am project manager in clinical research industry (CRO). After earning PhD, I gave up my science dream to take a more stable job. After slowly climbing the ladders, I feel like I finally got a seat at the table. Half the days I like the hustle, but now I miss being creative. I want to take more brainstorming, decision making responsibilities but I don’t see that in the career path for PM. Career path usually goes like this- Sr PM, Director, Sr Director, and so on. But all do same work.

(For example, “ready when reached”). I’m open to doing this and this attorney is asking what my fee would be? 3 attorney firm. I’ve been here for 6 years and have used Westlaw exclusively. Now we are switching to Lexis because apparently Westlaw is too expensive. I hate change. I know where everything is on Westlaw and now I need to relearn. Apparently Westlaw will not budge on price and would rather just see a client leave than work with them. Super annoying. Any insight on negotiating Westlaw or transitioning to lexis?

A lot of time is wasted here going through discovery documents we receive from clients because the docs are disorganized and not annotated - it just becomes a whole scavenger hunt and it’s eating into our time like crazy.
