The worst thing about my new firm is all the partners know about Contract Companion and thus expect extremely clean documents. I much preferred when only I knew about it and everyone was amazed at how clean my docs were.

Never heard of it. I’m from the era when we had to (and still do) have the skills to proofread and produce extremely clean documents ourselves. I’m more concerned about mediocre attorneys now thinking they are skilled because they use AI.

like

OC1: that’s good! Yeah, we always had the tool since I began practice (graduated law school in the last decade) and it heightened junior associates’ ability to work on documents - more quickly and with more precision. Because it’s not generative AI, it still requires human in the loop, so people didn’t become reliant on it. I think true generative AI carries that risk if people aren’t learning to do things themselves, but this tool is not generative. I would also run it on docs that my firm didn’t draft because who knows the quality of the other firm’s work and it would quickly spot errors without wasting client time. Not sure if you have used Litera Pro or if your firm does, but it’s definitely great value add for clients.

I recently was let go (in lieu of accepting my two weeks) and I should have received my March expense check by the end of April per the employment agreement (submitted the report April 1, let go before mid April). I have emailed HR but haven't heard anything. I've got a feeling someone at the top is putting a hold on it.

How do I get my money from them? It's a few hundred dollars

Happy to provide my story on the other side. Spent two years at Accenture under Technology mostly working on business analysis for implementations and PMO.

Left for Facebook for a role in strategic analytics in BizOps with 180k TC.

Few tips for looking at exits:

1) Referrals are a huge tool for getting your foot in the door. At Facebook it guarantees that atleast your resume is given more than a glance.

2) A well constructed story/resume can offset any weak points in your experience
