These days, resumes will just list out a whole bunch of AI-related keywords, which I assume candidates are throwing in there so their resumes pass the initial screening. It's always "I am thorough with using Claude, Perplexity, GPT, Copilot, ADP, Ziprecruiter Indeed and LinkedIn ATS". What do you even make out of this big list? Do you make the same assumption I do or do you actually give them credit for having skills in all of these things?

Give them credit. It’s hard out here landing these roles.

I only "give them credit" if they mention platforms we need experience in.

I definitely notice the AI buzzword lists too. I usually take it as a signal of awareness, not proof of skill. If those tools are relevant, I’ll ask how they’ve actually used them. Most can name the platforms, but only few can explain practical use beyond resume scanning.

Skills need to be relevant on the resume. If we are asking for experience in those, then that makes sense. Better to show what you’ve accomplished using them instead of a laundry list.

In the provided list:

ADP is an HRIS platform. Many employers like to hire HR professionals who have experience with their HRIS platform, so it makes sense to include.

Zip Recruiter is a trash platform. Would never admit to having experience using it.

Indeed and LinkedIn are incredibly common platforms to source candidates. Would absolutely understand an applicant listing them if they are applying for a Talent Acquisition role as it fits into the type of tools they use on a regular basis.

As to AI “tools”…would only include if the job posting specifically listed them as requirements.

I think we should not blame on AI and respect the candidates resumedls as they did take the AI HELP coz they are interested in your organization. So don't take for granted. Atleast I think this way !

About to get promoted at PwC from Associate to Senior Associate (mgmt consulting). I interviewed at Deloitte for a Consultant position, but they’re potentially giving me an offer for BA. I’d essentially be holding out on the promo until next promo cycle. Usually, I’d understand hiring at a level below for higher levels but I feel like doing a 3rd year as a junior might not be the best decision. Should I push HR for Consultant level? I haven’t gotten the official offer letter yet, just verbal.

How do I divide the chores in this case? I’m the breadwinner - husband has been taking time off from work. No kids. Two dogs.

I feel like I do more chores because there are some things that I just can’t stand. He does grocery shopping, yard work, some cooking. Is it unfair if I repeatedly ask him to do more? 😡😡

New/pivoting into HR! 👋 Currently working as a TA Coord with a little entry level work in HR Ops prior to this. Is there a SHRM link, reliable test, or method of shadowing the various parts of HR that will provide a sample of the work, thinking, and day to day experience of each group? I didn’t go to school for HR and therefore haven’t had the opportunity to sample HR Ops. vs. TA vs. Comp vs. Benefits vs. Payroll, etc. I know work experience is the best barometer, but what can supplement this?

Hi everyone, what metrics are used by a talent acquisition team to identify insights on their activities to be able to start conversations within the team or other interlinked departments.

More than just metrics like time to hire, cost of hire, demographics, I'd like to hear what data is collected and monitored or measured to get insights on talent acquisition activities.

Thanks in advance for all your inputs :)

I'm not sure of where to go after that, but I doubt I will stick with recruiting or my current firm.

Has anyone here started off in recruiting and branched out to other HR functions? Do you like your new role? Do you wish you stuck with recruiting?
