How are you going to get enough United flights from Dallas to make status consistently though? AA has 90%+ of flights from DFW. That said, I used to be united before moving to Dallas. qualifying is about the same since criteria are pretty much identical; I think intl redemption was slightly easier on united mainly because of better access to alliance partners/direct flights for fewer miles but I have been pleasantly surprised by domestic redemption on AA.

Domestic AA points are excellent. This year AA changed the policy on overseas by adding 1-more Hop in connection. Let’s says DFW-FRA was direct last year with 30k points. Now it’s DFW-AUSTIN-FRA. And if I do search directly from Austin as departing city. It add Dallas or Houston hop. Just mad on them
