Have some patience and wait till you find an offer before resignation

You're not crazy. You're just less risk-averse than your standard consultant. That being said, why the rush? What's stopping you from sticking around for a month while figuring out your life?

Orrr just coast in your job. It’s not that hard if you’re not trying to out perform your peers

What about a sabbatical?
Same OP, the only bummer is now is the worst time to do it because traveling is frowned upon

Nope, I did that once, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made.
Only you can decide this for yourself. Your current job may give you health coverage, not sure if you are covered elsewhere. . . .So keep that in mind. Additionally an existing job or multiple offers can help you psychologically from the standpoint of salary negotiations
Do you come from a ‘comfortable’ family?
Ask yourself what exactly you are trying to escape and what makes you feel next organization will not have that roadblock.
On a second note sometimes we just lose interest to work with a team in that case get an offer and resign

The only drawback is that some potential employers may be hesitant to hire anyone who quit for no reason, since they fear you would do the same thing to them. Depending on the company, role and overall economy, it may not be a big deal.
Otherwise, go for it and I hope you find something you truly enjoy.
Not crazy at all

Try to coast on your current project while job hunting. See if you can get on the bench for a couple weeks or maybe use some pto. These imo are better options than just up and quitting especially when you're just starting out your search to see whats out there.
