Any Spotify people here? Noticed there’s an AM role going at the moment in the UK but not sure what experience level it is. For reference I’ve got 6 years in ad sales experience with 3 years management (both in music industry). Would this be comfortable or is it worth holding out for AD?

Bain & Company Hello, I received an offer as a Senior Practice Manager at Bain. The profit sharing range is 0-12% in the offer letter. Is it typical to receive the midpoint (6%)? Also, what do the annual salary increases typically look like? Any insights are much appreciated. Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group McKinsey & Company

Radical transparency. Better read those principles and memorize them because you'll be living them at Bridgewater... Guess the question is whether you'd like to work in an oligarchy or a monarchy?
It comes down to culture really, BW does a great job showing you the culture in their interview process.
Yes and I loved it
I’ve heard bridgewater is more cutthroat - don’t they do that direct feedback thing where they make people cry?
Yes direct feedback is great, you know where you stand and I am really good at arguing
I’ve both interviewed and consulted at Bridgewater. It was the weirdest place I’ve ever worked. Cultish. Wouldn’t have known that if I hadn’t actually been there for three months. In other words, you can miss a lot of you just go by the interview process.
I’ve had Goldman as a client as well. Would absolutely work there over BW. Didn’t notice any cutthroat behaviors nor do I hear about it from folks I know who work there.
One person’s experience.
It would depend entirely on the nature of the work you did and what you accomplished therein. I’ve never hired a person because of where they worked previously. There are far too many pixels wasted on that idea by the early career guys here. If you’d worked at a boutique and have relevant background and experiences, I’ll hire you over a BCG guy who doesn’t.
I love the bridgewater culture
The Goldman culture feels cutthroat and dangerous
VP level at GS, path to MD is at least 3 years. I will be reporting to an SVP
Lead at BW
Same salary in 300s + bonus

No offense taken, Goldman. I don’t plan to hang around for more than 3 years.
All I'm gonna say is here at gs we have a lot of issues. But Bridgewater has the most toxic culture ever
I’d think long and hard about the commute. Assuming you live in NYC, Bridgewater = a lot of time on the train.
Otherwise, both great names if you plan on staying within Finance. Outside, GS probably has more brand recognition (although not necessarily a positive one 🧛🏼♂️ 🦑 )
No problem - have good friends that have worked at both. Cost of living (including NYC vs CT tax) is probably worth running the math on as you’ll end up taking more home for BW.
That said, I prefer living in NYC for a whole host of reasons!
BW’s non compete is generally 2 years. I recommend speaking to multiple people from both firms, especially those who have left (both voluntarily and involuntarily) for a fuller picture. The firm is excellent at courting candidates, so don’t over extrapolate from your interview experience
Bingo
Comps?
Yes
I thought I heard bridgewater average tenure is <1 year because so many people can’t handle the Radical Transparency approach
Doesn’t the brush eater non-compete come into play here?
Good point. Thanks for bringing it up
Re-read this thread, and a couple of questions.
It strikes me that with 17 years of experience you would have accumulated a pretty good critical mass of the experience I was referring to. Why are you looking for a short gig at one of these two places (from your I don’t plan on sticking around three years comment)? What do you plan to do next? It was around that time I was looking for a place to plant some roots to call home. Took me a while to get there, but it was my mindset throughout til I found one. If you’ve got something in mind, what will these firms give you that you don’t already have? Why not start now? Or is there some unique skill set you can only get from working at one of these two firms? If so, what kind of “strategy” job is that?
