This is a question directed to people making an insane amount of money as senior or principal engineers, like 500k+. How do you continually get higher paying positions? What do you do that other people don’t do? I've been in this line of work for about 3 years now and I just want to make sure I'm doing the right things for the most career growth and success.

Has anyone ever lateraled and had to clarify/dispute the terms of their bonus payment with the new firm?

Does anyone have advice in how to transition into a corporate job from a small company?

Any firms cut salaries, bonuses, or staff lately? I feel like it’s coming..

What is the process for negotiating a job offer (from a firm or otherwise)? Do you have to be ready to ask for more salary/bonus/other perks right when they call you to make the offer, or can you ask for time to consider and then call back with your additional requests? I’m not the best at thinking quickly on the spot, so feel like I could be more thoughtful if I took a day or two to consider my requests.

5th September is my last working day at Infosys. Yoe=4+ yrs
Tech= aws devops
I hold an offer of 18LPA from KPMG with joining date of 7th September. (Wfh)
I applied at Workday on 15th May and went through 7 technical rounds of interview and received a verbal offer letter of 21LPA (hybrid)
Now apparently their technical panel "forgot" about the interview and wants to have a discussion again as 8th technical interview. HR says their joining date will be 19th September.

Should i join KPMG?

6 months internship as a business functional analyst and 1.2 year of experience as a business systems analyst -- i got ECBA certified -- I am hunting for full time functional analyst jobs.

Started my new job today! I’m joining a late stage startup coming from a more mature company, and am noticing a lotttt of documentation debt. I’m coming in as Staff/Lead, and want to eventually move into management in 1-4 years. If I spend some of my first two week block updating and creating documentation for future devs, will that be seen as working hard or wasting time? It feels like a good use of my time to me….
