I have researched my current salary & it pays about 10-12K less than industry norm in our area. I asked they do their own research or have an independent contractor vote in to assess job profiles and do their research & provide recommendations. No go. Former coworker finds new job & they offer them $7K to stay (which they're already making a few K more).
They declined because new position was $15K more.
How can I best use this info to ask for raise.

I’m currently interviewing for a hybrid Jr UX Designer role for a fragrance company. The compensation is between 70-80k. I searched the market rate in NYC and the salaries are between 103-120k. I assume this is based on the company, industry, and experience. I have a graphic design background with 10 years experience and have a springboard certification for UX. I don’t want to get low balled as I have been in the past. Is it unreasonable to ask for what’s market value when it’s a team of 5?

I have a document stating that I was not charged. Should I wait until it’s flagged (if it will be) or should I be proactive and once I submit my fingerprint, explain my story and attach the appropriate documents. Has anyone determined how to calculate cost per hire for your organization? I understand you need to add up all of your external cost / by your number of hires. My confusion is if you have LInkeldn for your corporate roles and Indeed for Hourly how can you use the total cost of the expense if the platform is not used equally.

Coaching leader on factors influencing KPIs.

I had a chat with my business partner, and he’s said the team is complaining about the KPIs that are too far of a stretch.

I then suggested him to unpack that a bit more. When one is not hitting their KPIs, there could be many factors.

My initial view is that it could be true but we also have to look at CAPABILITY, TECHNOLOGY, WAYS OF WORKING etc before assuming our KPI is not set up right.

A few days ago I was offered a role for a recruiter with a company. Benefits, PTO, pay is decent, enough to get me by. I accepted today because it was the final day to do so. I was then called by a recruiter for another company, in which they made me a better offer for a Generalist and I want to take this one. What do I do? I didn’t sign a contract, there’s no clause that states I need to take the position.

I had my PHR back in early 2000, then made a career change to a paramedic (I know, right). I called SHRM and they said I'm eligible to test again even though I only currently have 1.5 yrs of HR.

I purchased the online study guide and it seems that HR has gone in a completely different direction - more operations related than employee relations etc.

Did anyone find this online training to be helpful? I test in July, so any tips would be greatly appreciated!
