Has anyone made a switch out of accounting and more info with an FPA (financial analyst) or operations role? I would imagine it can’t be too hard to leverage an accounting background to do this. I never want to deal with SOX controls again, and continue getting stuck on awful projects within Deloitte advisory. Feeling silo’d and looking for an out. Away from accounting and into FPA or Operations.

Is this a bad time to go in-house at a tech company? Eyeing a litigation post at a FAANG but wary of the ongoing spate of layoffs and first-in-first-out.

I work in tax and with TCJA and CARES (extra work) and not enough resources (not hiring, people were still quitting, and layoffs). Also with blurred lines of work/home since covid, I’m at my computer from wake up to bed time, usually midnight. I have always had stress, but that has recently escalated to full blown anxiety. Do you guys think things will level out or will the firms try to keep taking advantage of everyone’s increased utilization?

Ok I’ve yet to get a real offer since the pandemic layoffs. Any recommendations for recruiter/resume services? Left off with 3 years of IT product management and 10 years customer success/training management.

Question: how much money can be made in Tech sales by someone with a top 3 business school MBA and 12 years of non-sales experience? I've worked for some big names, but in Ops & Finance mainly. My base is $75K w/ an OTE of $60K and my opportunity cost was a finance role at a FAANG company making ~$135K base plus $40K stock. Trying to decide if I made the right decision

I have exposure to JavaScript/Typescript in test automation. Thinking now to shift from QA to React.JS development. Capable to creating small apps using React.JS.

What i have seen in my experience is development guys are getting paid well than QA. if i think of future QA ultimately boils down to handling people as you get promoted, rather than remaining close to technology.
