Marlboro just bought out a big chunk of Juul. Although it’s a great offer I would take into consideration what that can mean for the future such as a shift in company culture, a cut in jobs, less room for growth if they wind up bringing in their own employees to take over the higher positions, etc.. doesn’t seem very stable at this point for new employees but I may be wrong

Updates: I used the Juul offer to improve the other offer I got from a different firm. I’ll be joining this firm - it’s an F-50 industrial tech company.
Overall, I wasn’t comfortable with Juul and the growing negative societal effects of their business and vision, so I respectfully declined the offer.
Everyone on the Juul team page looks like a fuccboi

It’s going to limit your future options. It will call into question your ethics - I would judge you.
I would take it. At the end of the day it’s a better product that cigarettes if you must smoke. There is noise about young people taking up smoking but the company seems to be doing a lot to combat that (commercials, supportive of higher smoking age laws, removal of flavored pods in stores). The comp is legit as long as it’s a role that would provide transferable experience in the future
Juul is a big tobacco company. I spoke to someone a while back who worked there. Thought it was cool bc if pax, but pax represents about 0% of their market.
My dad died from lung cancer, not for me.
What was your experience in years post UG or MBA? Curious what level I can expect if considering something similar
Would u work for an alcohol company? Kills more lives always sold as something that’s cool when ur turn of age, etc.
Just make sure your standard of living is inversely proportional to your income. Also, invest wisely.
For those that have interviewed: is this an offer that applies only to specific groups within Juul?
OP would you be willing to share what the interview process was like? Did you apply online or did they reach out?
It’s a solid offer and don’t worry about the industry. As long as company’s purpose is in line with you beliefs system, its no different than selling alcohol. Also depends on your function - if you are are head of finance then follow on opportunities are not limited, but if more specific to the tobacco industry then I would take it under conservation for a no go decision.
