I think maintaining work life balance is definitely possible as long as you set boundaries from the start, I know plenty of people who do it successfully. HOWEVER there is a very big pressure on utilization unlike a few years ago. You’ll be expected to hit your targets, so as long as your work load/plate is set up for your to do that consistently during the work window you set for yourself then you’ll be fine, but in PR agencies in general I’d say it’s very hard to guarantee that with the eb and flow of things. There are definitely times where I work late to make up for being slow earlier in the week and not having enough client hours to bill.
Use the search function in fishbowl. It seems like they’ve been doing layoffs every 3-4 months for the last year. If your current job is stable and you have flexibility, I’d avoid.
Don't do it. Nothing to learn. Same cookie cutter plans recycled over and over again.
Hypes themselves up way too much on linkedin
I worked there a few years ago and it was normal at the time for people to be 100-120% billable and still feel like they weren’t hustling enough and scared of getting canned. I didn’t have a life outside of work then. Agree the culture varies based on the team.
To me more pay would not be worth it if it were the same as my experience there.
My fool-proof trick for pressure testing work-life balance:
Interview in person (if possible) as late in the day as they’ll possibly allow.
When the interview is over, take a look around and see who else is in the office. If there’s a lot of people you can ask if a team is crashing on a deliverable or event or launch.
Then you’ll know.
It’s not a fully remote agency, there are offices all over I work there lol
A year ago I would have recommended it, but not at this point in time. It’s been a rough 2 years for the industry, which has meant layoffs and the growing expectation that one person will happily do the work of two or three in order to keep their job. I hope it gets better.
It varies so much by client, team and time of year. I have 20 hour weeks and 80 hour weeks. feel free to DM me.
No matter how much they pay, you have an expiration date at RC, whether it's self-imposed (because you realize what fecal-show it is) or they just cycle you out.
Keep reading the reviews, they are all negative for very good reasons
