What's a moss adams? That sounds like a bourbon cocktail.
Started by a guy called Ron. After he called several consulting companies for a job and said 'I am Ron'. They said 'who Ron'! That's when he decided to start Huron (who Ron)!
Had two friends let go from there within the last few months: sounds like lots of layoffs. Here's a quote from Glassdoor from back in April to give further context:
"Management continues to tell employees that they are done with layoffs but they've gone through THREE rounds in the past year. I have a feeling its not over. University recruits are signing on to a full time job with you and getting laid off just months after they start. If I had this information when I was interviewing, I wouldn't have accepted an offer. You're supposed to take care of your people, and you didn't even try."
Where you working right now?
Heard it's above Accenture, but right below Deloitte and Moss Adams in terms of prestige
I'd drink a moss Adams
As far as Huron... I was initially skeptical when a recruiter claimed that Huron was the "largest EPM/BI firm in North America". After mentioning this to colleagues, it seems that this is the case if you add in the qualifier "EPM/BI in the education industry". I may be wrong there. Nonetheless, that statement, which seemed unfounded, stirred me wrong
Stay away. I know 2 acquaintances who left within a year of joining. It has all the negative qualities of each of the big4 with none of the positives.
I've been here a few years and generally like the job and tbe people I work with. I think it does vary by practice though.
My experience (healthcare practice) has been interesting work, decent pay, and better work life balance than most Big 4 people seem to have.
Stay away from Huron
Bleeding badly. Run. 50% stock loss in 12 months. Multiple RIFs
We got people moving out from there to here
Second layoffs
Previous Huron employee here. Stay away.
@K1 and @E2 - what makes you say that?
Stay away, likely setting themselves up for a sale with the continued layoffs. Have also had two friends (excellent, smart guys) let go in the last few months).
