They have a solid team but less techy than the major tech firms.

They do ECVC?

Agree that saying they’re the top v10 in ECVC is strange.

I would say, however, that they’re the best ECVC player outside of Cooley/WSGR/Goodwin/Fenwick/Gunderson.

I always enjoy working across from the LW ECVC team, though a good chunk of their team went to Goodwin a few years back.

Ditto on working across from them, I’ve found them pretty kind from top to bottom and are hardworking/sharp. I was getting emails from them like 1-2am though so I think they expect a lot from their associates.

I've generally had good experiences working opposite.

Cap market is great, ECVC is meh

I’m currently an associate (no kids) in a very busy corp group (think 50-60 billable weekly). My wife works significantly less (currently part time, 10-15, but hopefully will be full time soon). I realized recently that I can turn my “super associate” persona at any time. I had it off during covid when my kids needed me and got a bad review. So now it’s back on. I’m responding to midnight emails (and daytime ones in under 20 minutes) and getting work done the same morning. I’m spending countless hours doing edits over edits. I actually don’t like super associate. Why do people live like this 24/7?!? 🤔

it feels like every survey about working from home is (poorly) designed to answer the useless question "would you rather work from home or from the office." I recently lateraled into Big Law. Most of my colleagues are homegrown. My shift did involve a big change in practice area, and there's work that I haven't done before that I now have to do.

But, sometimes I feel stupid here, even for work which I have done previously. It's like I'm unable to understand instructions the first time around. And I have seen my colleagues getting annoyed by that. It's like I've become dumb. In my defence, I could say they're giving half assed instructions.
