Thoughts/advice please. I’m thinking about leaving public less than a year in. The initial plan was to stay at least till I hit the year mark so I can get my work experience for CPA and then leave but I just don’t like the work and want to explore my options/other service lines. Is it a dumb move to leave post spring busy season? I’m not expecting some crazy raise or anything, just another experience. Also if I leave, how do I go about getting my work exp sign off from my ex-firm?

You haven’t even seen enough to really learn anything lol

You’re not wrong so I understand where you’re coming from lol

I think everyone goes through the same experience. I considered the option too many times on a daily basis but getting lost in excel is sometimes relieving and time will pass when you know you've done your time but you can learn where you put your time into. PA imo is the best place to get a variety of exposure with some solid transferable skills. You are young so your body will recover. Have the hindsight to learn from the interactions and wonder why you are doing stuff. Try to have fun boasting about your hours. It's not so bad and culture seems to be changing especially after the COVID. Not even close to the ideal culture but our salaries are finally moving after a decade. Wheel of times. Your time will come if you stick it out long enough. If you can't find anything you like, you should leave. GL HF
