TMI Post !

I’m 9w & nausea is crazy this week. There were handful of days where i puked my guts out quite literally anddd i realized i peed myself a lil every single time that happened😳. Now even if i cough or sneeze hard its happening, i did not realize it starts so early 😳
I’m rarely stepping out of home at this point scared of when nausea strikes.

Is this common? I have my next appointment in 10 days. Should i wait this out or call my OB about it?

I also had this issue in first tri because I was throwing up so violently. Pelvic floor physical therapy helped some, but didn’t really stop until my nausea subsided mid 2nd tri.

Common but not normal, go to pelvic PT

I think that’s too early. I had that starting some time after 35 weeks and was told it was normal because I had a large baby sitting on my bladder, but at 9 weeks that shouldn’t be the case yet. I’d recommend looking into pelvic floor PT if you can. Always Daily Extra Protect liners also worked really well for me.

I think it depends on your insurance — for me to have insurance pay, I need a referral from my OB. (If paying out of pocket, it wouldn’t matter, or your insurance might be set up differently).

See a pelvic floor physio, they should be able to help

This happened to me when I was 6-7 weeks pregnant with my first because I was vomiting so violently. I have not had any real issues with peeing myself since (now pregnant with second baby). Since it is also happening when you cough, sneeze, etc. i would see a pelvic PT

How much did you all pay for the 20 week ultrasound out of pocket? My 12 week ultrasound cost me $600 so I am guessing the 20 week one would be even more expensive. I have the high deductible plan from United healthcare.

Last night I went over to my friends house (she has 2 kids, 2 and 4 yo). She and her husband were asking me about my pregnancy and planning. And were asking what I’ve prepped to date. I’m only 13w2 days so I think it’s way to early for buying stuff, but I did mention we hired a baby nurse for when the baby comes. My friend completely berated me, short of calling me a bad mom already, saying “what is she going to do all day? Don’t you want to bond with your child?”. I’m so upset by this.

Hey everyone. I found out we are expecting our first child and I’m really nervous. I got into consulting one year ago and I’m up for promotion this year. With timing of our performance conversations I would have to inform I’m pregnant before outcomes - then shortly after the promotion effective date I would go on a leave for due date. I’ve worked really hard and I’m worried our wonderful news will throw chances with this :(- also if I don’t get promoted pretty sure it’s up or out. Any advice?

How did you tell your manager you’re pregnant? Did it affect pay/promos? And then, subsequently, how did you start letting colleagues know you’re pregnant? Feels awkward to just randomly drop the news in a meeting! I work remotely so it’s hard to tell by video :) I’m 21 weeks and feel like I’ve waited as long as I can to at least notify my manager. I was waiting to negotiate my salary for next year but per company trend that doesn’t get set until January (manager reviews are written in Dec).

Trying to set family expectations and would love thoughts on 2 things. 1. How long after baby will I be ready for visitors beyond our parents? I’m thinking a few weeks. 2. Our 3 grandmothers are 1-3 hour flights away (3 diff places) and cannot travel. When will we be ready to take baby to see them? I’m thinking 4-6 months but that would also be flu/RSV season. Can’t predict the future but family is already talking about trips and I want to set expectations and do what is best for baby. TIA!!
