To any 🐠 that have done a ā€œfirst dateā€ over zoom, FaceTime, etc: What was your experience like? Anyone have a bad experience where you ended up not liking the other person and stopped pursuing them after?

Ive had several. Thought it would be awkward but it really wasnt. Like in-person dates some go well and we keep talking, some we dont vibe and thats it. Its really not that big of a deal

like

I have. It was honestly a lot of fun. We had a great conversation for a couple hours. Just make sure your lighting and camera angle are good beforehand, and otherwise treat it like any other first date.

I had one. It wasn’t awkward or bad but he wanted to meet up in person for a movie date which I’m not gonna do in the middle of a pandemic.

Ah okay I was going to say...he definitely puts the die in carpe diem

I’ve had many, they’re really not bad. Social interaction is great. The bar is LOW.

I actually do one every weekend with this one girl I’m seeing. First time was awkward but a few weeks later, it feels natural. It’s only as bad as you want it to be, hopefully not too bad

like

Yeah had a good experience with it

Researching the job mkt & pay for nursing: It is so easy to set up a first interview esp. as a nurse. Set up a zoom meeting, in the zoom meeting ask abt job details and ask for the salary range. They will give it to you, and in my case it was the same range for both of the companies. (Hospice oncall nurse herešŸ‘‹). Then you fit in somewhere on that continuum based on education & experience—that where the negotiation comes in—they will make a case to place you as low as possible on the scale.

A majority of my experience is in the logistics and logistics technology side of sales. I’ve been working remotely doing over the phone/ zoom demo sales. But I would love the opportunity to service my clients in person!

As things start to open up fully, some of my institutional clients are sending notices that we are expected to do X activity over zoom from here on out (things we used to do in person). Clearly it’s a cost cutting measure. Started talking to this guy through group a group telegram and one day he offered to pay for my lunch as I had helped him out with something. Since then he has been offering to pay for my dinners, salon visits, shopping etc and I have accepted 3-4 times. I am in a steady relationship and my boyfriend doesn’t know about this. The other guy just says he likes paying for my stuff and there’s no agenda. Is this a little weird?

Hi Everyone,
I have a query. Not sure if this is the right forum for it, but let me just ask it here.
I have completed my B.Tech. on 2020 and got a job in an MNC with a 3.8LPA, but due to COVID, the onboarding was delayed to Feb 2021. During this time, I had enrolled myself for a distance M.Tech. degree.
I recently joined a new company with a 10.1LPA a month back.
Just two weeks back, my M.Tech. degree is completed.
Should I have some increment in my new company as to my M.Tech. completion?

Home office preference question. I am getting ready to redo the layout of my home office. One option I'm considering would have my desk facing a wall. I am wondering if anyone with this current setup has any feedback about it. I would face the wall so that I would have a better background for video conferences (am on about half the day) and also my cord situation would be cleaner.
