I have applied to several positions up Google. I have not heard anything back at all. No matter if I customize my résumé to the job description I still don’t hear anything back. I am wondering as to why Google ghost people instead of just telling them that they didn’t get the job? Do people on Google believe it is appropriate for the recruiters just a ghost people especially if they feel they don’t match the job?

Hello Gang, I’m on the business side for Walmart right now. Walmart Global Tech recently offered me a role to move to the San Bruno office, but I’d be taking a demotion from L6 to E5. YOE: 8, COMP(200k base, 25% bonus, 100k RSU). Is this competitive in the bay? I have Doordash and Instacart in the pipeline, but no final offers yet.

Life here is very expensive been here 3 years
Thanks for the perspective. Seems like the consistence guidance I’ve gotten is come here, save, invest and then dip. It just doesn’t seem like the Bay is a good long term solution. And yes, it is very isolating outside of Oakland if you’re coming from a city/region with a more vibrant, thriving black community eg NYC, DC, Houston
Following. Just moved to the bay from Chicago, and just starting to tap into local networks.
