Then it hit me. When I worked for a much smaller hospital, a patient passed. A more experienced nurse asked me to crack the window. she told me how important it is so that the soul can find a way out.

Little context: I was an ED student, full time paralegal/clerk throughout my law school experience, and a single mother. I did not take advantage of the law school extracurriculars and missed out on clerk application deadlines my final year (2020). What should a coder/biller/transcriptionist make with over 15 years of experience? I am currently the only person in the office that can do those jobs with no backup.
