Transitioning out of immigration to employment, are there any mid sized to big law firms in Southern California that would be more open than others on such a transition?

Cleared first round and my on-site is next week. It just came to my notice something about visa sponsorship in JD. It states “This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.” I have H1B but I would need H1b transfer and GC sponsorship. Can anyone help me out here.

This one is for folks on h1b visa. So at time when you have an offer in hand(not accepted the offer yet and h1b transfer process not yet begun) while you are working with your current employer, do you even speak to your employer about your new offer to see if they make a counter offer?
Is there a risk involved with this approach assuming your current employer doesn't provide you with a counter offer and they ask you to leave immediately (and your h1b visa hasn't been transferred either)

What is a reasonable pay increase + bonus? This will be my first pay increase. I make 70k and I will be starting my second year at big law (immigration). I had 2 years of prior experience before joining the firm. My manager rated me highest in all areas and mentioned she recommended me for promotion but it may not happen until next cycle since there are limited number of promotions to give. I will get a pay increase regardless so I want to negotiate in case I don’t get a “good” increase.

For those who came to London thru their firm’s global mobility program, what sort of visa did you get? And was it a route to settlement? (IE did that time count towards getting ILR eventually)?

H1b/ H4 extensions pending and license is expired! DMV says they don’t renew based on receipt…. What can we do?? It can take months, especially for H4!!

I lateraled into a niche practice group in Sept 2021. I also have a 1 year old and have been mostly remote since I started - but have been keeping busy tracking towards 2400-2500 hours. L&E Arbitration folks -- Has anyone ever argued that the JAMS Consumer and Employment Minimum Standards of Procedural Fairness ought to apply to a claim? JAMS declined to apply the Standards on the grounds that the individual is an independent contractor. FWIW, the individual is classified as an IC under some laws and an Employee under others.

What is considered a “large” caseload in employment litigation? I work at a large L&E boutique law firm and handling about 14-15 active litigation cases in state/federal court or arbitration. Some of these matters are multi-plaintiff and multi-defendant cases, but none are class actions. This does not include any matters I am handling in the charge stage or in pre-litigation. Not sure if that’s a typical caseload or not?

Is there a way to practice L&E in the government realm? If so what’s a good way to find these positions? Thanks!
