Cognizant Recently cognizant have changed their internet wfh allowance policy.we use to get 1800 per month as internet allowance without submitting any bills or transaction details. Now they changed the policy as we need to apply for icici/axis/hdfc credit card from there we need to make the transaction and reimburse the same. I am ok with everything but why i need to apply for credit card? How a company can force me to have a credit card? It will directly/indirectly alter the credit score right? Cogniza
I applied to Amazon job in LinkedIn . Got a mail to complete a Hacker Earth test from Amazon . But i felt not prepared and didn't even try it thinking i might fail and they might not shortlist me the next time when i apply again after preparing .
Do they track any data like who didn't attend the test so they can ignore them next time? Or if i prepare good enough and reapply again after 3 to 4 months would this cause any issue?

I’ve worked for both - trust me go Deloitte. BAH is mission oriented which I loved, however their comp is essentially the base salary. At D your yearly bonuses are sizeable and the benefits don’t compare (D gives us phone 1k commuting, 1k health and wellness, 250 every 2 years for “accessories”). Also, exit Ops at D are vastly superior, BAH while reputable, is only in govcon and their brand is unknown elsewhere
There are definitely cool projects at D and we are going after more and more.
I honestly would never go back to BAH due to their compensation structure. At D, high performers are rewarded very well. At BAH, I was a high performer but my increases sure didn’t show it. It started to get very frustrating. I’ve never experienced that here at D.
In addition, I have become way more well rounded at D vs my time at BAH due to the inherent forcing factor (hate it or love it)
1 - Classified work and remote dont mix. Its possible that you could have a project that is mostly unclassified but I can tell you as someone on the security side of things, they are going away fast because of too much spillage.
2 - In theory you are better off working directly in your field right out of school. Get that foundational experience that will carry you over for a long career. I would recommend a job where you "get your hands dirty" early because it will be much harder to pick up later. Got to turn that classroom theory into practice.
3 - Depending on the location both those could be good or you could be getting ripped off. Whenever you are looking at classified jobs remember that escorting janitorial workers pays $20-$28 an hour depending on the location. Thats up to $56K to stand and watch someone clean. Take "normal" computer science pay and add $50K on top and thats where classified computer science pay should be.
4 - Whenever you are dealing with contractor work you need to understand the difference between being hired by the company and being hired against a contract. If you are hired by the company your job isnt tied to a specific contract (in theory). If you are hired against a contract it absolutely is.
5 - If you are hired against a contract you always need to ask what year they are in. Government contracts are 1 year with 5 option years. They almost always take the options and then recompete at the end of 5 years. If you are being hired into the final year its a bad sign. Probably means the guy you are replacing knows they are not getting the contract and left while the leaving was good. I just turned down a job that looked great on paper with pay about 20% higher than other offers because it was 7 months from ending. Yeah, they were not going to get the recompete.
6 - Be prepared to work for two bosses at a minimum - your company and the Government. The government always has the final say because they are the customer and because the law says so. Your company can say "sure you can work remote" but if the government lead says different, government wins. You might know something could be done better in C# but if the government wants it in MS BASIC thats what you are going to code in. I see a lot of people fall out of contracting work because they cant deal with this.
7 - Having just gone through a nearly year long transition/job search and doing it with 60+ peers in my HoH Cohort I have opinions of both companies. I did not apply at either despite both being heavily involved in my field. I think I sent Deloitte my resume during the "blast it out" phase and I know Booze saw mine as part of the program and they never called me so the feeling was mutual. If you can take the stress, Amazon pays better. A LOT better. Lockheed Martin and Raytheon have a near constant need and its not because of turnover. GD, Parsons and BAE were my next tier.
Good Luck
Sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience USA1; that's not been my experience with HoH or the dozens of vets we've hired through HoH. Glad to hear you landed in a spot you like - and not dealing with clients sounds very nice :)

Wow 95 k base is nice as an analyst!
That’s consultant salary
I don’t think analysts get bonuses so that 12 k is a nice add
Campus hire analysts get signing bonuses, this isn't new.
Skip both and go to AFS - you get all the tech work you can handle and equity accumulation the other two can’t match.
Remote capability will depend entirely on the project. There are some projects that will only have you go into the SCIF on occasion and will let you work remote the rest of the time but those are few and far between. Having worked at both during the pandemic I think that would probably be the case at either Booz or Deloitte.
OP, I'm biased bc I work at Deloitte, but our analyst program is outstanding from a training, development, and mentorship perspective and your offer at 95k is also outstanding. There are a ton of projects where you will do hands on dev work, and most of our projects are hybrid (with probably the majority being largely remote, though some cleared projects are going in more often and some state and local projects traveling but most not weekly from a travel perspective).
I'd go with D and then pivot to an Amazon / Microsoft / Palantir at 150-200k+ after 1-3 years.
Amazon SWE pays 200k+ TC for entry level. I would assume Microsoft and Palantir is similar. Microsoft might not hit 200k but it will be close.
Once you gain good customer facing experience, consider sales engineering job in the cleared space. $200k+ earnings potential as an independent contributor with hybrid work arrangement.
Deloitte also give a yearly clearance bonus
Only for managers and below who charge majority of their time to projects requiring TS and above. Each clearance level has a different yearly value. TS/SCI with full scope will be 10k and TS only is 1k
