As long as your have no symptoms I don't see the problem in going. Covid positive lasts for weeks regardless of symptoms doesn't mean you still contagious after 5 days cdc says
Apparently not anymore since it’s now reduced to 5 days per the covid Gods at the CDC. You either don’t agree with “science” or just have a narrative that you want to believe.

I mean you were either going to get it at the NYE event or before. Feel like I have no sympathy for you on this.
Every large gathering is a spreader event.

If the Grinch were a libertarian he would have continued holding his opinion about the whos but he would have kept it to himself and everyone would have been happy.
Maybe VP can keep their judgement to themself?
Email the event organizers that you have Covid and can no longer attend, could they refund
I would still try to email or call, I got “nonrefundable” tickets refunded because Omicron surge was unexpected. Was in the same boat as you in that I bought them months in advance thinking we were good then got Covid

If the event won’t refund you or at least credit you for a future event call AMEX and dispute the charge. Someone else did this in another bowl with a non refundable / no flexibility dinner reservation that was prepaid and their CC took care of it.
It's not. The event planned its operations and had terms and conditions when you biught the ticket. If they allowed anyone to back out because they got covid It's like having fully refundable tickets.
A chargeback might work, but it is greedy.
Are they refundable? We don’t have enough information. Call the vendor you bought it from. If they can’t help, look to sell it at a discount price to recover some of the cost. Not sure disputing with the credit card company is appropriate. Get well soon!
Thanks for those who were helpful. The event organisers have provided an exception and are granting a refund to those who have tested positive.
You’re SOL unless you call it fraud.
Any way you could sell you ticket?
Charge back is not appropriate/dishonest. You have to check if your card provides insurance. You accepted the terms & conditions and if it is not refundable you accepted that knowing the risks.

I think in normal situations this is correct but in a pandemic there should be more flexibility, especially when many plans were made before Omicron surges and it looked like we were over the hump with this thing.

Dispute
Wrong but the easiest
